This is an incredibly valuable paper for our work. We’re currently running an initiative in Kenya aimed at scaling up deliberations between Kenyan Gen Z and the government through a series of structured engagements on issues young people have identified as pressing. We’ve been using tools such as Pol.is, Remesh, and Talk to the City to explore innovative approaches to expanding youth participation in these conversations. More about the project can be found here: https://www.zkevoices.org/
This paper has really opened my eyes to the scale we need to be aiming for and will help inform the next phases of the project. We’d be very interested in speaking with the authors to learn more about how Deliberative Tech can scale effectively across the five dimensions outlined.
